DOING THE MOST GOOD

This holiday season PSG Raleigh and its WeCare Team volunteered with The Salvation Army in their Bell Ringing Campaign.  The bell ringing season starts in November and runs through the Christmas Eve.
It only takes one shift to raise enough money to provide two nights of shelter and four warm meals for the men, women and children who enter the doors in shelters every day.

"The generosity and charitable spirit of the
Raleigh team is absolutely humbling and impressive.
Nice work and special thanks to those that signed up and rang the bell for a great cause!"
- Jerry Spaulding

A Message From Shane Corbett and the WeCare Workplace Approches Team

Good Afternoon,

I’d like to take the time to introduce you to the Workplace Approaches and Environment Team.  We have a  group made up of volunteers from a cross section of our company.  The team members are Gwen Smothers, Val Fidanzo, Tim Dyer, J.D. Loughlin, Chris Turner, and myself.  Our team sponsors are Jerry Spaulding and Jeff Breen.  As the Workplace Approaches and Environment Team, our job is to improve Piedmont’s overall effectiveness and employee engagement by implementing processes and initiatives based on communication and feedback from employees that improve your overall workplace experience and environment.  These initiatives will range from very small scale to large scale, office-wide processes and initiatives.

We’ve met a couple of times and have a few things in the works, but in the meantime we wanted to go ahead and tell you about some documents we’ve placed on the G drive that we hope you’ll find helpful.  At our first meeting it was brought up by J.D. that it can be hard to know whom to contact in our office when you need a question answered.  So we put together an organizational chart that should help with this.  We also included the current phone list as well as the PowerPoint slideshow that was played at our open house with all of our pictures on it.  We don’t get to see each other every day and this may help you put a face with a name.  To access these documents go to the G drive and click on the “WeCare” folder.  Inside is a folder named “Organization and Contact Information”.  The documents are in that folder.

Is Your Business Prepared for the Next Storm?

June 1st marked the official beginning of Hurricane season. National weather forecasters predict an above-average 2013 Atlantic hurricane season, with 18 tropical storms forecasted, of which nine will be hurricanes.  This comes on the heels of a less-than-stellar forecast in 2012, when nearly twice as many storms formed as had been predicted.

Despite increased hurricane activity in recent years, a recent poll indicated that most businesses are not prepared for major storms during this hurricane season.

 Is your company prepared?

We want you to know that Piedmont Service Group stands ready and able to support your business with asset protection and recovery services. Our manpower resources across the state will be on standby prepared to help you recover from any potential damage to your facility and it’s equipment, should we be faced with a storm. In addition, should you need support with generator testing and securing and/or protecting outdoor equipment, please call your local
Piedmont Service Group office.

Fish Tale

This past weekend Piedmont "BassMasters"  Scott Johnson and Corey Brown competed in a Bass Tournament on Lake Gaston.

The guys were thrilled to participate after being invited by one of our clients, Roanoke Valley Energy. They placed 5th out of 17 boats, with Scott Johnson catching a 2.7lb fish!

Congratulations!

Located in Weldon, North Carolina, The Roanoke Valley Energy Facility (ROVA) plants have operated at high capacity factors, exceeding the five-year averages typical for units of its size. Capacity factor is a measurement of the generation performance of a power plant and ROVA’s power supply agreement incents it to achieve a high capacity factor.
