USASkills

Recently Eric Batten(Service Representative in Raleigh), participated and placed second in the Regional USA Skills Competition held in the Greensboro Coliseum.  This competition showcases safety awareness, troubleshooting ability, soldering skills as well as overall industry knowledge.   Eric was one of 5 students selected to represent Wake Tech's HVAC-R program.  Another Wake Tech student finished fourth in the competition.  Wake Tech also had a strong showing in the Plumbing competition placing students second through fifth.

The 50th annual SkillsUSA North Carolina State Leadership and Skills Conference was held in Greensboro, NC April 21-23, 2015 at the Greensboro Coliseum and Koury Convention Center.  Over 2,500 students, instructors, industry members, and volunteers were on hand for the largest showcase of Career and Technical Education in the state.  Nearly 1,800 high school and postsecondary students competed in over 106 different skills and leadership contests.
